Sambiya River Lodge is centrally located in the famous Murchison Falls National Park and is only 20 minutes from the top of the magnificent Murchison Falls. The open-fronted lodge offers panoramic views of the wilderness of the park.

Guests can stay in any of the 26 double rooms designed as individual and family thatched cottages which have en-suite bathrooms. There are fans, screened doors & windows, mosquito nets, and a veranda to relax and enjoy the commanding views of quintessential Africa.

Other facilities and services at Sambiya River Lodge

Twelve basic Bandas, both self-contained and non-self-contained, are also available for guest accommodation at the Lodge, allowing you to relax whilst experiencing the sights and sounds of Africa.

In the main lodge building there is a restaurant, bar and a sunken lounge where guests can order from the snack menu and continental meals. The bar serves both soft and alcoholic drinks.

Sambiya River Lodge houses an outdoor swimming pool which is flanked by recliner seats and green hedges. Other recreational activities to be enjoyed while in the park include safari game drives, boat cruise safaris, sport fishing, hiking trails and bird watching.

Airport pickup and laundry services attract additional charges, but on-site parking and 24-hour security personnels to guard the premises are available.

The Lodge is a 25-minute drive from the landing at Paraa ferry crossing spot and a 45-minute drive to the rainforest for chimpanzee tracking at Kaniyo-Pabidi.

Rhinos were sadly extinguished because of poaching but are now being bred again and rehabilitated in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

There are more than 450 bird species in Murchison Falls ranging from common to a variety of forest and water birds, making it a hot spot for birding safaris.

Other national parks in Uganda with highest concentration of wildlife in Uganda include Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is famous for the tree-climbing lions in the southern Ishasha section and a boat cruise along Kazinga channel that joins Lake George and Edward. Kidepo Valley National Park is also another suitable place for the best wildlife safaris in Uganda.
