On this 5-day Murchison Falls & Budongo forest safari you will discover Murchison Falls on one of Uganda’s ultimate wildlife safaris in Uganda. This tour offers the greatest safari experience for visitors to explore the largest spectacular park in Uganda.
Meet the BIG FIVE and enjoy a chimpanzee trekking safari in Budongo Forest. You will take on a boat ride along the Nile Delta, through the extensive papyrus of the Victoria Nile before it flows into Lake Albert. Here again, there are plenty of wild animals and bird species to see, with an excellent chance of seeing the rare shoebill stork.

Day 2: Kampala – Murchison Falls
Begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and travel to Masindi via Ziwa Rhino Project. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino trekking is a must. After lunch, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park.
Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge (high-end facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 3: Murchison Falls – Part of 5-Day Murchison Falls & Budongo Forest Safari
After your cup of coffee, you will cross the Nile by ferry to the northern bank of the park. Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, you will marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and kobs, over this 17 km stretch.
This is also a zone of many bird species such as Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork.
There, you will leave the boat and start your – quite heavy – hike to the top of the falls (for approx. 1 hour), to see where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment, to plunge into a frothing pool of about 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge (high-end facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 4: Murchison Falls Boat Safari
After your morning breakfast you will get ready for a boat trip on the Nile Delta that takes between 4-5hrs. This one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison Falls National Park through an extensive papyrus delta on the Victoria Nile that flows into Lake Albert.
